Hilton agrees sixth new Hampton by Hilton project of the year (two operated by Hotel Professionals Management Group)

WARSAW, Poland and MCLEAN, VA – 25 November, 2016 – With hotel industry leaders preparing to gather in Warsaw next week for the annual Hotel Trends conference, Hilton Worldwide has extended its 2016 growth streak by announcing a new franchise agreement to open a Hampton by Hilton in Oswiecim, its sixth such project of the year.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, EMEA, Hilton Worldwide, said: “Our development team in Poland has enjoyed an unprecedented year of success which is further underlined by this new property in Oswiecim. 10% of all new projects we have agreed in Continental Europe over the last two years have been in Poland. This is a testament to the growing pull of our brands and the willingness of local partners to seek further opportunities to work with us, having seen the performance of our existing portfolio.”

Previous projects unveiled this year are located across the country in five different cities; Lublin, Gdansk, Warsaw, Poznan, and Kalisz. The agreements represent the first Hampton by Hilton for all of these sites, except the Polish capital, whilst Oswiecim will also become a new location for the brand when the hotel opens in Ist quarter 2018.

Hampton by Hilton Oswiecim will consist of 120 guest rooms, more than doubling the town’s existing hotel room stock and will become the first international brand to welcome guests in the town. It will be a newly built property developed by Property Partner Investments on behalf of NPP sp. z o.o. and enjoy a central location 300m from Oswiecim’s main square. This is the second project, after Hampton by Hilton Oliwa which is currently under construction, that is being realized in cooperation with Property Partner Investments. Both hotels will be managed by Hotel Professionals Management Group sp. z o. o. – company led by Alex Kloszewski, one of the most experienced hotel experts in Poland, whose team was engaged in the opening of five properties branded by Hilton Worldwide in Poland.

Oswiecim is the gateway to one of Poland’s largest tourist attractions, the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. Last year the site attracted 1.7m visitors, 70% of which traveled from overseas. The hotel itself will be situated approx. 3km from the site of the museum offering an idea base from which visitors can take in the attraction.

Bogumił Rutkowski from Property Partner Investments said “Oswiecim has been in need of extra hotel supply for some time, particularly a well-known international brand to cater for the many visitors to the town who come from around the world to visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum. We’re thrilled to be working with one of the world’s most recognizable hotel companies to satisfy this demand.”

Phil Cordell, global head, focused service brands, Hilton Worldwide, said: “Since launching our Hampton by Hilton brand in Poland just over three years ago, our growth in the market has been explosive with fourteen properties trading or in the pipeline. We are pleased to add a further location to our roster in Oswiecim and to become the first international brand to welcome guests in this location.”

Hampton by Hilton Oswiecim will be located at Dabrowskiego Street, Oswiecim, Poland. It joins a portfolio of fourteen hotels trading or in the pipeline, all of which are expected to be welcoming guests by the end of 2018.
