Sopot with a new Radisson Blu – Hotel Professionals supports investor in brand negotiations

Hotel development in Poland is continuing at a feverish pace for The Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest-growing hotel companies in the world and a member of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. The latest addition to the Group’s pipeline is the 230-room Radisson Blu Hotel Sopot. With this signing, Rezidor will have four resorts and 13 properties in Poland.

The new-build property, with 250m access to Baltic Sea Beach, is expected to open by Q1 2019.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Sopot is located in a major health-spa and tourist resort destination in north Poland visited by 6 million domestic and foreign tourists each year. Furthermore, the hotel is strategically situated in the heart of the Tricity Metropololis (Gdansk, Gdynia & Sopot), one of the most rapidly developing urban and business centers in Poland. The hotel will provide easy access to the Gdansk Business District and is only 20 minutes away from Gdansk’s Old Town. This business and resort hotel will feature an all-day restaurant, a lobby bar, more than 900m² of extensive conference and meeting areas, parking and an 900m² spa wellness area with a gym and indoor pool. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Sopot project is being developed with Grupa Inwestycyjna Hossa S.A.; a Gdynia-based design and architectural firm with 25 years of experience in real estate.

“With an average GDP growth of 3.6 percent in 2015 and the rise of domestic tourism, Poland is an important economic player in Europe,” said Elie Younes, Executive Vice President & Chief Development Officer of The Rezidor Hotel Group “This latest addition extends our reach in Poland, where we already operate 13 properties, and will strengthen our resort segment in Europe. It’s close proximity to the heart of Poland’s business and urban district make it attractive to both the business and leisure traveler.”

Bartlomiej Kolubinski, Member of the Board at Grupa Inwestycyjna Hossa S.A., said, “We will passionately work to provide an outstanding service to our business and leisure guests in this evocative building and environment of Radisson Blu Hotel, Sopot. Throughout the process of the project’s preparation and acquisition of the Radisson Blu brand, we were supported by Hotel Professionals Sp. z o. o., a leading advisory and management company in the hotel sector in Poland.” Alex Kloszewski, Managing Partner of Hotels Professionals Sp. z o. o., adds “We are proud to be part of this unique project and have absolutely no doubt that the hotel will become, under the Radisson Blu brand, a leading choice for the Polish and foreign guests seeking upscale accommodation in the Tricity Region.”

“We are delighted to add our fourth resort hotel in the country following Zakopane, Swinoujscie and Szklarska Poreba,” added Younes. “The project is in line with our strategy in Poland and answers the increasing demand for quality hotels in regional and domestic business and leisure destinations.”

Sopot is one of the country’s most famous towns and is extremely fashionable, particularly in the summer months, as a top destination seaside resort town in Poland. Sopot, together with Gdansk and Gdynia, constitutes Tricity, a metropolitan regional housing more than 1 million inhabitants. The city is home to several tourist attractions, including a long, sandy beach with numerous water sport centers; Sopot Pier, the longest wooden pier in Europe, stretching out into the Bay of Gdansk; boat cruises; Sopot International Song Festival, the largest of such events after the Eurovision Song Contest; Ergo Arena sports and entertainment center; and Sopot Hippodrome.
